Applications are invited for 12 doctoral positions within the PhD Program in Mathematics jointly among the Universities of Ferrara, Modena e Reggio-Emilia, and Parma, starting November 1, 2023.
The program will provide doctoral researchers with a high-quality education in the fields of Pure and Applied Mathematics, and their interactions with Computer Science. Carefully selected research projects will introduce doctoral researchers to relevant and challenging topics at the forefront of current mathematical research.
In addition to 9 Fellowships with research theme open to all fields of Mathematics, 3 Thematic Fellowships are available, two of which at the University of Ferrara:
Socio-economic modeling resulting from the development of epidemics using physics-informed neural networks
Fuzzy and Metric Modal Symbolic Learning
and a third one at the University of Modena and Reggio-Emilia:
Biological and chemical spread: analysis and control of prevailing dynamics

Your profile
We are looking for highly motivated, excellent candidates with strong mathematical skills and interest in pure and applied mathematics, and computer science. Applicants must hold a master’s or equivalent degree in mathematics, computer science or a related field.
Your responsibilities
Doctoral researchers will work on a theoretical or applied research project, participate in the activities of the PhD program by attending some of the courses offered, and pursue a doctoral degree.
